Moonlight

Moonlight
Some interesting information regarding the story of the Moonlight-glaze and the story of Eozin glaze of the Zsolnay: Some of the most famous pieces of the Zsolnay, among wich there are more pieces of the Eozin glaze, are exhibited in the Museum of Zsolnay, and there are many articles and books appeared about the factury’s history. Completing its history with some facts that are closer in time to its present days, I collected some interesting facts below. The factury was taken away from the Zsolnay family in the Comunism, and after the croll of the System (year 1989) the Zsolnay family wanted to re-have and re-purchase it, but they couldn’t re-have it neither for their money. Now in our present days in the town of Pécs where the factury is located, there is a huge investment in the town’s buildings and especially in its cultural life and its management, as the town had won the title ”Cultural Capital of Europe”. In this project naturally, also the Zsolnay factury and its values (like the Museum presenting its master-pieces) is involved and makes part of it, and in the past half year more newspapers have published articles several times about the scandals regarding how do the town’s management deal with this investment. The Art-Committee’s composition, charged with the mission to occupy with the values of the Zsolnay, has been changed several times since the town won the ”Cultural Capital of Europe”’s title, more presidents charged with the managing of the project has resigned. My Mother and my family has always appreciated the Zsolnay family’s work, and art pieces, and we have given to my Mother’s technological innovation, so to the pair of the world-famous Eozin glaze of the Zsolnay, the name of Moonlight, because we wanted to express our respect toward the work of Vilmos Zsolnay, since the Moon reflects the shine of the Sun and, over being the symbol of respect for his work’s shine, it includes in itself also the mistery that this special glaze has in itslef, and that the Moon in every culture’s language carries in itself. I write about it also in my novel and there are some words and thoughts about it also in a portrait-article appeared about my Mother’s work in the regional daily newspaper, (called, Petőfi Népe, 16.09.2007. – it’s uploaded also on my Vox. Blog among the references).
